WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator JD Vance (R-OH) issued the following statement after voting against cloture on the motion to proceed for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
“The American people will not tolerate another endless war and neither will I. As it stands, this legislation authorizes the president to send funding to Ukraine for another three years,” said Senator Vance. “We cannot maintain this posture. President Biden recently admitted that we are running low on the artillery shells and materials we need to defend our national security and deter China in the Pacific, and I believe the current version of this bill would severely exacerbate that issue. I plan to offer several amendments before we vote on final passage and hope to convince my colleagues of the need for realism and restraint at a time when we desperately need more of both.”
