WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator JD Vance (R-OH) issued the following statement in reaction to the Biden administration’s newly implemented policy to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants.
“There’s an unprecedented crisis at our southern border, we’ve got major conflicts around the world, and families all across Ohio are getting crushed by inflation,” said Senator Vance. “Joe Biden’s response to all this is to give your hard-earned money away to illegal immigrants in the form of taxpayer-funded healthcare. This is a slap in the face to every hardworking American who plays by the rules, and it would never happen if Donald Trump were president.”
Senator Vance has long warned against such action from the Biden administration. In July of last year, Senator Vance and Rep. Josh Brecheen (R-OK), along with over a dozen of their colleagues, sent a letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Beccerra to oppose the measure.
Senator Vance and Rep. Brecheen also introduced the No Obamacare for Illegal Aliens Act to amend the definition of “lawfully present” in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to explicitly exclude DACA recipients and bar the use of any federal taxpayer dollars through ACA waivers for providing health insurance coverage for illegal aliens.
